Allison Muelle, LMSW

Allison Muelle first found her passion for working with adolescents and families as a law student in Miami, Florida. She witnessed first hand the power of being able to support people when they are at their most vulnerable and it was this experience that sparked her interest in becoming a social worker. Early on in her twenty year career, Allison quickly learned that working with adolescents is her passion, and it also requires constant innovation. As a result, she has evolved and innovated her practice to meet the needs of her clients, studying yoga when she realized adolescents would benefit from mindfulness practices. She strongly believes that a successful therapeutic relationship starts with being client centered, building trust and listening. Her work with adolescents focuses on providing them with the tools they need to support their overall mental health, wellness and functioning. Allison incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Executive Functioning Coaching into her practice with adolescents.

Using a strengths based approach, she works with adolescents to help them with goal setting, decision making, developing the mindset of healthy habits, managing anxiety and many other aspects to support a young person’s mental health and overall success. Allison earned her Master’s in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. In addition to her LMSW, Allison also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and is a trained yoga teacher. For the past twenty years, Allison has worked with adolescents as a school based social worker in New York City and Westchester County.
