Gwenn Lowe, LCSW
I understand and value the importance of finding the “right fit” for your therapy. My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, and strength-based. I work with children, adolescents and adults to create a safe and supportive environment where we can explore issues such as life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and how to cope with challenges. I am also an EMDR trained therapist.
I specialize in working with those affected by interpersonal trauma, including intimate partner violence, family violence and sexual assault. I have experience providing acute emergency department support, counseling, and advocacy to crime and trauma survivors and their families at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. I also have experience providing individual, family and group therapy for children ages 5-18 years old utilizing a variety of modalities such as TF-CBT, CBT, play therapy, art therapy, and motivational interviewing. I use a gentle approach to work with my younger clients on things such as coping with school and life transitions and coping/understanding symptoms of ADHD, anxiety and depression, to name a few.
I welcome clients of all cultures and backgrounds, and work to ensure a safe and accepting space for exploration, growth, and change.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
