Dr. Rachel Ladds is a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. She has experience working with neurodiverse youth, including those with autism, ADHD, and twice-exceptional (2E) profiles, and also provides executive functioning coaching to strengthen organization, planning, and self-regulation skills. She incorporates play therapy when working with younger children to foster growth, communication, and emotional regulation in a developmentally appropriate way. In addition, she conducts comprehensive psychoeducational and autism evaluations to help guide individualized support.

Personal Statement:

I am passionate about providing quality care in a warm, safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment. I believe validation is a critical part of the therapeutic process, and my goal is to help you and your child feel less alone as we work together toward acceptance and meaningful change.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, flexible, and strength-based, with a strong focus on building a trusting relationship because I believe that rapport is the foundation of effective therapy. I approach every case with compassion, clinical expertise, and deep respect for my clients’ experiences. I mainly draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Play Therapy, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals.

Qualifications

Rachel earned her doctorate degree in School-Community Psychology from Hofstra University. She has experience working with individuals across the life span and brings extensive expertise in evaluation within both school and community settings. Rachel has worked in diverse environments including schools, outpatient community clinics, and hospitals, which has provided her with a strong foundation in collaborating with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
