Thalia D. Sanchez, Psy.D, LPC
Thalia Sanchez attained her doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology at Felician University located in New Jersey. She is also currently a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey and has been providing psychotherapy to children and families since 2017. She has worked in an array of settings including community agencies, psychological diagnostic centers, brain trauma rehabilitation facilities, mobile crisis services for at-risk youth and child welfare institution.
Thalia is greatly passionate about working with school aged children, teens and families as a whole. She specializes working with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood dysregulation, adjustment related challenges, self-esteem and trauma. Thalia approaches all her patients and their families with a tremendous level of compassion, patience and care in an effort to establish feelings of safety and most importantly trust.
She uses evidenced-based interventions including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) strategies. As a long-term admirer of physical fitness, Thalia also implements movement as a coping tool for stress and its ability to not only improve physical health but connect mind to body. Thalia strongly believes that establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with her patients has been a fundamental variable in the efficacy of her treatments. With Thalia’s diverse clinical experiences, she hopes to always provide an authentic connection to all her patients.
